Es parte del proyecto de la compañía de videojuegos Square-Enix llamada Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, cuyo objetivo es ampliar y completar la historia de Final Fantasy VII, videojuego lanzado en 1997 para PlayStation. Crisis Core fue lanzado para la consola portátil de Sony "PSP". Zack Fair es un soldado de 2º Clase que aspira a convertirse en un heroe. En este juego podemos conocer su historia, las cuales se relacionan con Final Fantasy VII. Aparecen personajes clasicos del juego como pueden ser Cloud Strife, Aeris, Tifa y por supuesto Sephiroth. Este juego se situa siete años antes de Final Fantasy VII. Conoceremos sucesos que nombran en Final Fantasy VII como puede ser el romance de Zack y Aeris, la amistad de Cloud y Zack y como Sephiroth pasa de ser un heroe a desear destruir el mundo. Un juego realamente interesante para todos aquellos seguidores del universo Final Fantasy, y en concreto de Final Fantasy VII, con unos graficos impresionantes y formas de combate increibles.
